Dynamometer for strength assessment
A dynamometer is not a treatment. It is an assessment tool that helps turn sensations and observations into useful data for clinical decisions.

What it is
One technology.
Within a pathway.
The dynamometer measures the force produced in a defined position and task. Repeating the test under the same conditions helps us observe side-to-side differences and change over time rather than relying only on perception.
A number is never interpreted in isolation. We relate it to pain, movement, load tolerance, daily activity and sporting goals so exercise can progress with greater precision.
When it may help
Selected uses.
- Baseline assessment after injury or surgery
- Strength comparison between the right and left side
- Monitoring the response to therapeutic exercise
- Supporting return-to-sport or return-to-activity criteria
How we integrate it
One precise goal.
- Define the muscle group and testing position
- Use a standardised test adapted to tolerance
- Record and compare results
- Translate the findings into exercise progression
Frequently asked questions
Clear information.
Before you begin.
What does a dynamometer measure?
It measures the force produced during a specific test. The result becomes useful when compared with the opposite side, previous measurements and your functional goals.
Is the test painful?
The test is adapted to the stage of recovery and your tolerance. If a movement increases symptoms, the position or intensity is changed, or the measurement is postponed.
Does the result alone decide when I can return to sport?
No. Strength is one criterion and is considered alongside movement quality, control, load capacity, symptoms and the specific demands of your sport or activity.
