The goals, progression and criteria that guide recovery after an ACL injury.

A pathway, not a rigid protocol

ACL rehabilitation changes according to the person, the type of injury, any surgery and the activities they want to return to. Phases provide direction, but timing and progression should follow an individual assessment.

What we monitor

Pain, swelling, mobility, strength and movement quality are some of the elements we monitor. Over time, tasks become more complex and, for athletes, closer to the demands of their sport.

Returning to running or sport is not determined by the calendar alone: it requires shared criteria and an appropriate response to load.

Why continuity matters

Work in the clinic and agreed activity at home are part of the same pathway. Consistency makes it possible to adapt exercises, build confidence and avoid unnecessary spikes in load.
